Where It All Began (or at least where our Grand Tour started): Lecce & Salento
The first stop of the ITS ITALY Grand Tour was a true success — not just a journey, but a powerful glimpse of what life could look like in southern Italy. Lecce welcomed us with open arms and unforgettable charm, but it was the Masseria Torre Luciana — our countryside home — that truly set the tone.
Nestled among ancient olive groves, this beautifully restored farmhouse was the perfect mix of peace, productivity, and connection.
✔️ Total silence when you needed to focus
✔️ Inspiring spaces for solo work or group sharing
✔️ Pool, yoga, great food, and the option to be social or retreat
✔️ Just 5 minutes by car from downtown Lecce — "the Florence of the South"
🌍 A Global Nomad Gathering
Our group was a vibrant mix of digital nomads from Norway, France, the UK, the US, and beyond — all drawn by the opportunity to explore a different kind of lifestyle. Lecce and the Salento region offered not only beauty, but a real sense of belonging and possibility.
We were sorry to hear about some last-minute cancellations, mostly from our American friends, concerned about the ‘evolutions’ in the Middle East. And that something was going on could be noticed by the bang of some fighter jets from the nearby base of Galatina.
🏡 New Housing Models for a New Kind of Living
Thanks to ITS ITALY, we had the chance to visit regeneration projects and future innovation hubs — spaces being designed specifically with remote professionals in mind.
No more choosing between overpriced Airbnbs or difficult-to-find rentals. These initiatives are creating dedicated spaces for nomads that respect our needs, formats, and community-driven approach.

🧠 Innovation Meets Authenticity
From local entrepreneurs to universities, investors, and public leaders, we engaged with people shaping the future of Puglia. Salento is no longer just a destination — it’s a place of collaboration, creativity, and opportunity.
🍷 And of course... the Salento Lifestyle
It wouldn’t be southern Italy without:
Local wines and communal dinners under the stars
Cultural walks and baroque architecture in Lecce
Artisan workshops and turquoise beaches within easy reach
This wasn’t just a visit — it was an immersion.
💡 What Worked So Well
✅ The setting: that masseria was a dream — calm, stylish, functional
✅ The people: curious, open, and ready to connect
✅ The vision: clear paths to invest, live, and work in Italy with long-term sustainability
✅ The access: trains, airports, and a well-connected region
⚠️ A Few Challenges
We’ll be honest — there were a few bumps:
The summer heat was intense — not for everyone. But from September to April, the weather is ideal.
There are still too few structures that fully understand the needs of nomads (the Masseria and ITS ITALY are exceptions).
Car rentals were expensive, and some airports lacked organization — room for improvement.
✨ What’s Next? Sicily in July
We’re heading to Sicily next — July 2025, continuing the Grand Tour with new stops, new insights, and new potential homes. Want to join, we are organising the latest details and this is the perfect moment to grab a great deal with us. Last-minute, yes, but old-fashioned bargain too!
We aim to spend a week (5 days) in the second part of July moving from village to village. Expected cost 500 euro per person (sharing a room).
This isn’t just a trip. It’s the beginning of a different kind of future.
One that starts with asking: Where do I truly belong?
